I'm hoping to exclude Administrators from the 'Popular Contributors' widget.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I tried Google'ing and couldn't find an answer, and the template looks like it would take some time to figure out given my skill level.

You can not do that by editing the template. It will need custom coding.
