Posted September 25, 20204 yr Hey there, quick question for you guys. I submitted my forum to IPS to become an app. Assuming it gets approved... I'm wondering if I'd be able to offer access to the app based on group permissions. I want to give my subscribers access to the app and that's it. If you are not in the subscribers group, the app will not work for your account. Is this possible? Thanks!
September 25, 20204 yr I don't think that's how it works. The app is essentially an alternative view to what you see via web. You could restrict your web site content (or parts of it to subscribers), and then I believe that would carry over to the app. But, as of right now, the app doesn't have separate permission controls, so if a regular member can see something on your site, they'll see it on the app. Right now, the app is not specific to your community, and does not support any ad revenue. If you make it available, whoever uses it will get an ad free experience.
September 25, 20204 yr Community Expert Not possible at this time, but I suggested that myself right after the app was announced.

September 25, 20204 yr Right now that's not a feature, but it has been mentioned several times and I could certainly see the usecases for it.
