A11y Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Is it possible to include custom fields when trying to download member data here: https://YOURDOMAIN/admin/?app=core&module=members&controller=members&do=export If not can this be requested as a feature 🥰
Morrigan Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 You choose the data you download, that includes custom fields: bfarber 1
A11y Posted July 31, 2020 Author Posted July 31, 2020 Hi @Morrigan, My bad, I was meant to ask about downloading Customer Fields not Profile Fields. I can see the Profile Fields at the end of the export options list, but I don't see the ability to download customer data. By default, a phone number is asked for by the store. I didn't think I'd come across this problem so I left it that way, but I now want to invite our customers to a WhatsApp group so I need to download phone numbers in bulk. The only option I have is to disable "Phone Number" in Commerce > Customers > Customer Fields and add "Phone Number" to Members > Member Settings > Profiles > Profile Fields I would then have to ask members to go to their account and update details etc. Thanks for your reply. I can see @bfarber liked your response so I'm gonna tag him back too. 😅

I'm just wondering what would be the reaction of several people suddenly having their phone numbers exposed to other people within the group - if you've not already done so then I'd suggest getting people to opt-in to the invite before you do this.
A11y Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 Hey @Nathan Explosion, Thanks for your concern. The customer data is for a Paid Club in which members agree to the terms. I'm hoping Zapier intergration is released for selfhosting communities soon. I could then use WhatApp's APIs...
Morrigan Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I think this may a GDPR and privacy issue NGL. So I'd vote no and if you really need it get a plugin and make sure your members are aware its a possibility. Sorta sounds like selling of information.
A11y Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 I'm sure if it's a privacy issue then the developers wouldn't have engineered the field to be stored as raw text in the database. Any community that use email address verification builds a database of information that is accessible by any capable community administrator. It would be very stupid to ask how to download my customer's information if it were encrypted and not in plain site when using phpmyadmin. I was asking a simple question to download this information from within the community admin panel to save time extracting data from phpmyadmin. I just hope that wasn't an accusation... We can already download a mass amount of our user's data. I'm just wondering why customer data (nexus) is not an option on the export list? There are many reasons why it should be included. For instance here in the UK we have a rights of access request, it gives individuals the right to obtain a copy of their personal data as well as other supplementary information. It helps individuals to understand how and why you are using their data, and check you are doing it lawfully. If we we're to download information this wouldn't exactly be ALL of their information now would it? I think I need an answer from a developer on this. Thanks for your input.

For this purpose, you would visit the member's profile in the AdminCP and choose to "Download Personal Data"
annadaa Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 the question I am wondering is how to easily transfer your member list to something like mailchimp and the like
