Morrigan Posted April 3, 2020 Share Posted April 3, 2020 Okay I figured it out. Remote images are only permitted to be from a different domain. So it can be a subdomain like "avatars.sunsetbeachonline.com" or another website but you can't host the images from the domain you host the forum on apparently. Morrigan Posted April 3, 2020 Share Posted April 3, 2020 If you self host and you have them all in the same folder (avatars) just create a subdomain called "Avatars" and use that folder. It will become avatars.sunsetbeach.com/therestoftheurlstuff.png and will be still on your server. I will note that even with remote URLs it downloads the image so that it can crop it so even using remote images isn't saving you space technically. bfarber Posted April 3, 2020 Share Posted April 3, 2020 There is no built in avatar gallery I'm afraid, and when you use "import from URL" the image file is actually fully imported as a new attached file.
