Hi, 

i'm setting up a directory on my site..

Is it possible to do this via spreadsheet and upload rather than creating every entry individually? 

It's likely to have over 1000 entries. I'd rather not have to do this all in the admin panel if possible.

Depends on how good you are with working with MySQL tables directly. Uploading a CSV to the Pages database table is possible, but you would need to set up the CSV flawlessly in order not to break anything.
