Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 5, 20195 yr Hi, I recently tried to embed a Twitter post and all I got was this: I mean that is quite bleak. No images, no styling. IPS link embeds look a lot better then these tweet embeds. Why it can't be made to look like a real tweet taken straight out of the twitter?
November 5, 20195 yr We don't control the format of the tweet when it is embedded. So, we basically take what Twitter gives us from their embedding endpoint. I'm not sure what you mean by no styling or images, though - I see plenty: https://take.ms/iXLSU
November 5, 20195 yr Author But why it has to look like this? You mean twitter does not even provide the profile pic of the tweet author?
November 5, 20195 yr Your embedding is broken. My guess is you are blocking something in your browser. Your first post shows fine for me.
November 5, 20195 yr Author Yes that's correct! Something is messing with embeds. On Chrome it looks beautiful. But on latest Firefox ALL ADDONS/EXTENSIONS DISABLED it still looks like this. Perhaps its a bug of the browser? @Ryan Ashbrook

November 6, 20195 yr This is what I'm seeing in Firefox So, the problem you're describing doesn't seem to be an issue with our embeds or Twitter embeds in Firefox, but rather something on your end. You can try an "InPrivate" browsing session perhaps to rule out any browser addons or similar, but I'm not sure what else to suggest if that doesn't resolve it for you. Check your firewall, antivirus app, etc.
November 6, 20195 yr Author Yep, that's good I don't care much if it looks like that for me. All I care are my visitors. And I haven't heard anything bad from them so far. 🙂
