Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted August 30, 20195 yr Hi, I am having an issue with Google Authenticator. Started two days ago. It always worked great, but now it says I am entering an invalid code and locks me out of the ACP. It is also happening with the other administrators. I tried re-syncing the app's clock (Time Correction) and it worked, but today it is giving the same problem. Is there anyone else here facing the same issue? Maybe it is a connection issue between our server and Google's server? I have no idea on how to debug this. Thank you in advance, Gabriel.
August 30, 20195 yr You may want to check your server time, if you can log into the admincp the support section (select something isn't working) will check this for you and tell you if there are any issues.
August 30, 20195 yr Author Thanks @Stuart Silvester I have a cronjob running once a day synchronizing the server clock: /usr/sbin/ntpdate br.pool.ntp.org I was able to login in and the support tool says there is a new patch regarding 2FA. Will upgrade and see if this solves the issue! 🙂
August 31, 20195 yr I had the same happen to me yesterday. I was sure I was entering the correct code, but still got locked out for 10 minutes due to 3 failed attempts. After my ban expired, I was able to login successfully. I'll keep an eye on this topic.
