Hi guys. I was thinking that in my case where I have a forum about gaming and consoles and its more than enough to have one single forum section dedicated to a certain console.

AND having two forums of discussion type and Q&A type topic WITHIN ONE FORUM would actually be the best (at the time of me writing this) instead of two separate ones.

Can this be done?: to mark a topic during its creation to determine whether its a "discussion topic" or a "question topic"? Instead of having dedicated forums for each of those purposes?

No, this is a FORUM setting. The whole forum (where the topic is posted) will be the way you set on ACP: discussion or questions.

I understand that it's a FORUM setting. I'm asking regardless. For communities that aren't big enough like mine is it possible to host both types under one roof (I mean under one forum).

which you made? how is it different from what I ask for?

Not exacly... this app will add some features from Questions into Discussions forums, like set an answer as best answer but it won't "reorder" posts according to votes, etc.

Let me know if you want to test it. I can install it on my online board.

I personally don't like making modifications to the existing apps, myself. I like making standalone apps, where I don't get slowed down looking up which templates and methods need to be altered. But I'm sure someone would want to make it.
