Starting Off A New Forums

I thought it would be a good idea to open this topic, and hopefully people will contribute to this to help everyone who is new to IPB.

I'm pretty new to IPB so I will do a check list of what I have done and what I'm struggling with:

• Firstly I uploaded the files needed and completed the installation needed to get to the suite. Once I installed everything and completed the installation I notice when I went to the AdminCP there were two important bulletin points telling me what was wrong with the forums, I then simply asked my hosting provider to correct these for me and they did it.
• From there I went on to get my self familiarise to IPB and started looking around. I then went on to try figuring out how to set up the registration process so that emails got sent to the person e-mail this I failed at and didn't have a clue how to get this working. 
• lastly all I can think of is what I need to do is cron jobs but I don't know how to do this and what to put in.

I know there must be a lot more i'm missing out on and I don't want to spend money on SEO when on site SEO ain't fully done.

 

Any help will be grateful and I will update this thread and edit it to help everyone else that is new.

Hi @Tholeko Welcome to Invision Community and congrats on the purchase of a new license.  Are you self-hosted or cloud?  How excited are you to see it up and running?  🎈

This is a great topic and while I've seen some other topics here and there, it sounds like you have a very methodical approach to chronicling your community's success.

Can you share a little more information about what you're having trouble with?  What have you tried? 

Have you tried to send in an IPS support ticket or read the Help Guides:
