First not sure what wrong with the Category Tabs as works prefect but then if download nulled source might be reason why not working correctly * also there is 4.3.x version update due in new year as i taken over toms works.

Since you have taken Toms work , i suggest you should change some things in order to work properly and more user friendly . 

1) If you create a category tab (main category) , then all categories that are included inside are showing as subcategories and not as main categories.  Correct is this: http://prntscr.com/lz0occ

2) Setup is strange, it should be easier:

a) create tabs you want

b) then inside category , there should be an option like this: http://prntscr.com/lz0n4x

1. little confused but asking change the way main category shows when using the tab hook ? 
2. setup to me looks very simple you select category wish to display how much easy can you get ?
a. how would creating tab work if hook grabs the id's for category's ?
b. explain better details on this as believe hook is design in correct function that works as should do.

To be more specific the main thing is missing is the ability to show 2 or more categories inside a tab. 

If you make now 1 tab , everything inside this tab is showing as discussion board and not as category. 

Now the plugin works like this:

Nope your getting confused little here reason why

so when make your forum added category's followed by forums yes ? what your asking list via forum's and include sub forum's (if any added) what is total different but look see make plugin does that if possible.

Can you do this ? when mod activated:

 

if this cant be done you can do other way:

 

tab1 will show categories id 1,3,4,6

tab2 will show categories id 2,5,7

nope i can't change it sorry unless i not see correct way doing it but can only be done the current way only.

@Pete T  i think there is an easier way to do this from scratch like:

• Tab 1 will show only Categories Id: 1,3,5,6
• Tab 2 will show only Categories Id: 2,4
• Tab 3 will show only Categories Id: 7,8

That can't be done unless another device believe it can be done.

i still need this. willing to pay 100€ max.
