NeedCoffee
Seems like a simple thing to do, I can see a 'Content Count' but how or where do I click to view the content that makes up this number?
Jim M
You would view their profile on the front-end and click “Activity” to see a users content they posted 😉
NeedCoffee
Thanks, but what's the logic in making admins do that? Rather than allowing them to click the content count number or a link within the profile?

Because at the end of the day, if you were to view that content in the ACP and wanted to see it, you'd essentially be going back to the front end side and viewing it there. It serves no purpose to have it displayed via ACP only to hyperlink to the front end aspects.
Genestoy
I agree with the OP Scenario-- I get an email or PM from a member that they made a mistake in a post or need something changed in a post after the time limit for editing has passed Usually I get just an email address and no user name I go to the ACP and put in the users email address to get to their account I now need a button/link to get to that users content whether it be the front end or wherever so I can find the post he/she are talking about The way it is now I have to copy the user name and then go back to the front end to do a search (way too many extra steps) I have encountered this scenario many times so I fully understand what the OP is talking about

That way it'll flow through the ModeratorCP and the report will be associated with a specific content item. I had to push back on some of my members who did exactly what your users are doing. Does not work for me as most of my members are seniors and they have enough trouble just posting let alone "reporting" something

THANK YOU!!! I think I have clicked on everything in the ACP user account to get to their profile/content except for the avatar 👍
bfarber
Yes, clicking the profile photo takes you to the user's public profile. This isn't the first time I've seen people unaware that this was the case, and we are looking at ways of clarifying/improving this in a future release. NeedCoffee
@bfarber - why not just keep things simple and have, under the existing 'Content Count' a link that simply triggers a search to all the user content? Like this > Is there anything in the IPB code that has stopped something as simple as this appearing in the back/admin end? Seems a bit odd to add clicks for an admin to do something as simple as to find all the content by a user so they can review it?
bfarber
The original implementation considered clicking the profile photo to be simple (it's not hidden underneath a menu after all). Based on feedback, we've added a button for 4.4 underneath the profile photo in the AdminCP to visit the user's public profile.

This extra button in 4.4 is just another example of modifying a perfectly fine product (in this case with unnecessary redundancy) because of user ignorance, laziness, CHS, etc.

You then need to do another click to get to .../profile/[user]/content/ page to see all their activity ("See their activity" button). So adding a direct link from the admin area, rather than loading a page and requiring a 2nd click...? See above, it's still another click away with that design to see all their content. Great to hear that you're going to make it easier in 4.

Never known this of all the years that I've used IPB, as I was previously agreeing with OP to give us a way from ACP to members profile. Now I know!
