I have a closed tags system, so user can only select from precreated tags when composing the topic. However when users try to use "Search By Tags" in the advanced search, they could not select from these tags, by only to type the tag name hoping he made no typo.

 

I think it is make sense to give user ability to select from tags in the search, in case the closed tag system is used on the forum. 

I got this answer from support a year ago:
The tag search doesn't use a pre-defined list since pre-defined lists can vary in application and node (i.e. one forum could have a different pre-defined list of tags to another).

ok, but this sound not 100% logical, because user still could type n the tag not used in this node and get 0 results, why not make user life easier and let him select this tag from list? to avoid typos in the right node.

The core IPS needs to improve their support of tags and also the features that use it. Search and Tags is not very well integrated.

Also why are tag names not normally included in search results unless you go to the tags search? We expected a default search to match topic, content or tag name?
