Hi,

I dont know if this has to do anything with the server but when I edit a template bit and save it I dont see the changes reflected on the live site. I went to recache skin sets and that doesnt work either. The only way to do it is by downloading the file and edit it directly so I can reupload it to the server. What can I do to fix this?

Normally, template code changes are live instantly. I do it all the time. 
But if you just say “it doesn’t work” we can’t know why it doesn’t work. Neither do you describe your setup and your specific steps, nor do we have access to your server to replicate and narrow down any problems. 

Are you in Designer’s Mode by any chance? That’s the only thing I could think of that would explain why you could talk about downloading template files. 

I think mod_security can make it happen too.

No, Im not in designer mode and I follow the standard steps. I have no special setup whatsoever and in fact, many times I dont have this problem so it seems to happen at pure random.

By the way, whats mod_security?

We are not getting anywhere like this …

Is there any additional step I dont know of? I just select my template, click on the template bit I want to edit, I make the edits and then press the save button. If I reload the page on my board no changes were made but if I open my template bit editor page the changes are there.

Just throwing the idea out there, just in case.....are you using the right theme in the front end?

Yes, it has always worked fine. Most of the times I have no problem and the edits show right away but not this time and I dont know why.

Maybe your server has full page caching on top (Cloudflare? Varnish? LiteSpeed LsCache?)

No,I dont have any of those. Also, I dont think its the server because when I make the edits directly on the template files the changes show up right away so its definitely something wrong with the IPB cache.
