I have created some forums which I would like the threads to be deleted after 45 days. I thought there was a way to automatically do that, but haven't found it.

We have released an app allowing you to delete old topics automatically

Go to Forum > Settings > Archive.

Or you can use the app by @Fosters which gives you more controls and options.
