Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted December 11, 20177 yr Hi Everybody! I'm using and loving IP Board. Just one question: How can I deactivate the ability of CURRENT members to tag FORMER members? If somebody is not a current, paying member I do NOT want them to be taggable using the @ function. Any ideas? Thanks!
December 11, 20177 yr I don't believe there are any settings at all for mentions. It's just in-built technology which works for everyone. It sounds to me as though you need to make a customization request, indicating that you want the ability to use mentions to be limited to certain user groups (assuming you also don't want former members to be able to use the functionality) and to be able to select which groups can be mentioned. Maybe this plugin by @Nathan Explosion could be of use to you:
December 12, 20177 yr You might also be able to formulate a rule for this using @Kevin Carwile's Rules application: And thinking about your request, a member being @ mentioned might make a good addition to the Rules repertoire (if it isn't already usable).
December 12, 20177 yr Author Thanks @Meddysong yes that's exactly what I'd like to be able to do. @Nathan Explosion can your plugin handle this? @Kevin Carwile can yours?
