upgrade from 4.2.2 - Some source files are not correct

hello, I am trying to upgrade from 4.2.2 - the first attempt failed (stuck for several minutes) during the file extraction phase

every attempt after that fails with the following error

I check most of the files and the content hasn't changed since my pre-upgrade backup

not sure how to proceed

I had this very same problem before it only shown up when did upgrade from standard version to beta version, the only way found fix it was run the upgrade script by Admin CP and click check for upgrade then would upgrade via downloading files this way.

This is why I never upgrade to a beta version and I always wait for a few weeks before upgrading to the final release version. Since IPS upgraded my community form 3.6 to 4.1, I haven't had problems with the auto-upgrade tool. While I've ran into problems with one upgrade and that it was fixed by simply running the upgrade tool again, I haven't had an issue with it since then. Hell, even IPS warns its users against upgrading their live forums to a beta version because for one, they offer no support for beta versions and that many problems can happen for which you have to find the solution on your own. While I test beta versions on a test site, I just prefer to wait.

I don't use beta version, this is stable 4.2.2 to stable 4.2.3

Ah!. I had a similar problem with an upgrade and ended up having to log into my site's control panel to optimize my site and to repair the database files that were installed for the IPS suite. This is why it's important to do monthly checks on your files to ensure that when you upgrade your forum software that you won't run into problems like this.

When tried to upgrade via admincp was told to download files from Client Area and upgrade that way

After an hour it still had not upgraded so closed browser and tried to upgrade and told me applications already up to date, yet when I went to forums (or any 'front' page) I got errors galore

Had to go back to a backup and start again
