benefits for IPS in increasing PHP memory limit?

For those who are savvy with these sorts of issues: right now I am running the IPS suite on a VPS where PHP is allocated 256MB of RAM.  It is possible in the future that I might be migrating to a larger server with 3GB RAM, in which case I thought maybe I would allocated 512MB RAM to PHP.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone could say what (if any?) the benefits would be for running the Invision suite?  Would more memory for PHP improve performance in any meaningful way?

Using more memory if needed is always good as memory is very fast and it will help a lot
