Maxxius Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Hello, I was browsing the marketplace and noticed that I cannot find anymore the utf8 converter which bfarber made ages ago. I need access to it and its nowhere to be found. Thing is that I've bought an old PunBB forum which has database encoded in a windows-1257. So I assume that if I were to purchase a licence and convert it to IPB I would end up having messed up characters. What would be the easiest way to get this all done? I don't believe that Matt's new UTF-8 converter does that. I assume it just changes something in table collation but not the actual posts, topics and so on. Please help me out.
Nathan Explosion Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 The IPS 4.1 and 4.2 package contains the converter within the admin/convertutf8 folder

Maxxius Posted July 29, 2017 Author Posted July 29, 2017 are you sure, because I spoke to a colleague recently and he stated that Matt's converter was done like in under 3 minutes on a 400k post database and nothing was converted.
