Is there a store system that is made for 4.1.9 that works with Basic Points? I've got a few things I could sell but I want people to be able to purchase other items like user badges, different colored usernames and stuff like that.

You can use IP.commerce with "Points Economy" by @Kevin Carwile.  

Points Economy combined with Automation Rules appears to be very powerful.

In the regular IPS shop settings, you can enable a product in IP.Commerce to only work with one specified payment gateway. With points economy, you can define a points payment gateway and select it.

Unfortunately it isn't possible to display points instead of a real-world currency in IP.Commerce or IP.Downloads. It's always shown as USD or whatever currency you have
-> Better would be both: displaying currency and points.

You have to add the points equivalent in the product description. Not an optimal solution yet.

That's the way I'm thinking about it.

I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require purchasing IP.Commerce from IPB.

I don't think there's any way currently without having Commerce.  Maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks for sharing this. I decided to purchase commerce and this solution is helping me a lot. I was about to ask how would I let people purchase with points and you resolved that for me.

Alright. I decided to just purchase commerce but if this solution comes up in the future that would save me some money on renewal costs.
