I've just bought IPS forums and I'm in the process of transferring over 1.5mil posts. When that's done, can my users start using the forums? Or do I need to wait for the cron/background tasks to reindex everything. Before purchasing I did some testing and I'm aware that's going to take hours, even days.

I'm just trying to minimise downtime for them!

Yes, they can be used

So I've run the conversion and now I'm rebuilding posts. On the front-end, everything looks ok except the initial index of forums. Avatars don't work, every user's name is preceded by "guest" and links to the latest post don't work. If it wasn't for that, the forum would be in a very useable state right now. Is that something that just won't work until indexing is done?

Edit: Actually I've just seen that if new posts are made it fixes the issue....
