Recurring calendar event - comments

We noticed that when creating recurring events in our calendar, the user comments on any one of the occurrences persists to the others. In other words, you make a comment to the Week 1 occurrence, you still see the same comment in the Week 2 and all following occurrences. It behaves like a common, shared comment thread across all occurrences.

Ideally, we want each week's occurrence to have it's own distinct comments. They are distinct events, after all. We heavily use the comments on calendar events to organize for each week's activity: to measure attendance, to set agendas, etc.These change week to week.

Any chance I'm just overlooking a setting? Any ideas on an easy workaround, like mass duplicating a single event?
