Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 12, 20178 yr Stripe has figured out a way to allow websites to save credit card details for future purchases without having to save to our server. It's all handled on Stripe server. Thus no need for us to be PCI compliant, lower site risk etc. However it appears the Stripe gateway on IPB is not making use of these features. Might be a nice upgrade.

March 13, 20178 yr Yeah - Stripe's new Subscription thing also stores the card details (but also the plan details) on their servers, but they've handled storing card details on their end for ages. Stripe is awesome

But it appears to be storing on IPB and either not at all on stripe or both on stripe and IPB im suggesting only on stripe do you know if this feature is indeed working as described in ACP? Because it's taking the number via a form text box on IPB side.

So when they use the saved card your site sends they key to stripe and stripe revalidates. Still PCI compliant since you're not exactly saving the card info directly on your server.
