Does not expire

For some reason, when new members sign up to my website and buy access to a recurring membership the membership automatically expires after only one day (renewals of the memberships are set to occur every day).

why is that?

When I go to each member though the administration panel there is a check box under 'purchase settings' that says 'does not expire'. It is currently un checked for each member. How do I activate that option automatically?
