Did you try to manually run them using the link?

Are you on shared hosting?

Oh I'm not really complaining. I'm on IPS enterprise hosting and we've got a bazillion forums and posts. I wish we could do it faster or off-load it somehow as users only care that function A, B or C is wonky at the moment.

I am curious what triggers the need for reindexing in certain updates though.

You are lucky if it is created in one cycle. I had to do it 3 times to get rid of the "duplicate entry" errors for the last two updates.

Probably they are adding a field , column to DB or Index and it needs to be recreated.

FWIW for anyone looking at a long reindexing: The post reputation took about 2x or 3x as long as the post rebuilding appears to be taking.
