Request that we can set up an affiliate option in the shopping cart (Commerce) for Amazon Affiliates.

Not sure what you mean.  We have figured out how to use the shopping cart with our affiliate relationships. It would just be nice to be able to turn off the 'add to cart' feature since we are not fully utilizing the shopping cart since we are not selling anything in the 'store' since all we are doing to linking the client to the purchase on another web site. But we do like the shopping cart features. 

You could modify the language phrases for the “out of stock” option to achieve what you want with the current functionality and without any template changes. 

But if you don’t sell anything it’s not really a shop, but a link directory. That might have been easier to built in Pages. Not sure the shop needs more features to not use it as shop.
