private messaging button not showing

Trying to find how to enable private messaging between members.

On my forum I seem to be missing the 'message' button. (bottom image)

Is there some setting I'm missing? (no jokes!)

Thanks,

Mike

Have you enabled massages at: acp>>system>>applications>>system>>messages ?

Hi @R-023 Yes that's enabled. And the permissions are set right.

Any other ideas?

Submit a ticket for support, i cant find other settings...

Edit: Is this problem for al members ?

yep,

I tried composing a pm from the email link at the top of ipb, but i can't send messages. It says "*user* cannot receive messages".

That specific error text means that either the member has disabled their messenger themselves in their user controls, or that their Inbox is full.

Where is the setting for them to enable/disable messages in their Account Settings or elsewhere? I'm dealing with a similar issue on my recently converted site.

Messages are enabled for every user group other than Guests in ACP.

Correct me if I'm wrong @Mark H, there is not a setting to disabled this option for all members @KentT

Here is where I enabled Messages in the ACP>System>System, then edited the Permissions.

But, neither I nor my users see the link you show on the Inbox.  Mine are working, some other users are not.

Click on Go to inbox and then you have the option.

Also you can edit this in the AdminCP from each user separated.

Thanks, that's a starting point at least!
