Posted August 19, 20168 yr Hi, thanks for implementing the definite/indefinite article feature for foreign languages. But how can I add an additional language string as described in the release notes ... ... without uploading a complete new language file. We changed a lot of pre-translated strings and don't want to overwrite them again. Is there any manual way to add those definite article strings? BTW, you can't search for ___defart keys only. I always see the __indefart. Edited August 19, 20168 yr by Apfelstrudel
August 22, 20168 yr You don't need to add the strings, it's just a case of translating them as with any other. The problem is that the __defart_ strings appear not to have been included with 4.1.14.1.
August 22, 20168 yr Author Yes, that's what I mean. The strings are not available within the default english language. But the release notes contain following info: "You must add matching strings which provide the name of the content type..." So what does "add" mean exactly?

August 22, 20168 yr What does it say above that? "Information for 3rd party developers" If you're not a developer then you needn't worry about it.
August 22, 20168 yr Author But after the .14.1 upgrade I have mixed languages in activity streams. That's why I ask. So I have to add something. Edited August 22, 20168 yr by Apfelstrudel
August 22, 20168 yr Community Expert Just put in “topic”, “question” and so on in the language string search and translate the untranslated phrases.
August 22, 20168 yr Author Nope. That's what I already did. There are no untranslated phrases with i.e. "topic".
August 22, 20168 yr Community Expert Then you might need to contact support. It worked for me. The casing problems disappeared after the upgrade and I added a few translations. Nothing else needed.
August 22, 20168 yr As I said above, the __defart_ strings appear not to have come across with the release. I have a support ticket open currently about it, since I wanted to be sure it wasn't just something wrong with my installation. Since you're experiencing the same thing, I think we know it's a bug. At least IPS is aware of it now
August 22, 20168 yr Author Now I tried it on different installations. Everytime the same result with mixed languages. Before the upgrade it worked fine and the system used the correct translation. I already opened a ticket. Does anybody know the phrase key of this word "topic"? I cannot find any untranslated phrase with it. Maybe I can fix the problem knowing the right key.
August 22, 20168 yr Author Now I got the answer from support to search for __defart_topic but those __defart phrases don't exist at all. Even when I enter __defart as a key search critera only the __indefart phrases come up. Tested on two different .14.1 installations. Both were upgraded before. So something seams to be wrong. I don't know how opentype found the phrases. ?

August 22, 20168 yr Author Exactly those __defart phrases are not being shown in our installations. We tested it on two different systems. If we search for __defart only the __indefart phrases are being shown. Very strange. At the moment tier II support escalated it to the developers. Maybe it is a bug but not everywhere. August 22, 20168 yr I think @Apfelstrudel and I are experiencing the same problem. My case is with support. I'll post here later if there's any resolution:
August 22, 20168 yr Community Expert So what happens if you guys do what is shown in MY screenshot? I did not open that popup and did not search for those keys.
August 22, 20168 yr Author Exactly. Doing it this way it works. ? Something must be wrong with the popup search. Thanks.
