Hey Adriano, thanks for the advise on the PM  and we have the Links Directory installed now and currently configuring it. Some matters we would like to ask on how to do:

1. How can we change the app title and menu item from "Links Directory" to "Product Directory"?
2. Change the button text from "Submit a Link" to "Submit a New Product".

So far we are loving the app.

It’s a 3rd-party provider. I honestly have absolutely no control over any of the providers. The good sense says that a paid provider is expected to be better than a free one. If you read this topic, you will see that there are moments that providers stop working for a few hours or days, then they get back, etc.

Hey Adriano,
Some more mattrer:
1. Is there are way to put a character limit on the "Description" field for the Link? It has a minimum setting not we would like to limit the number of characters being sent by contributors.
2. Is there a way to put a "Default Description" in the field so that when people bring the form up - there's some default instructions in there already that they need to read / delete.
Where do you usually hangout (to contact you) if there is a way to do the above? And if not, can we add it for future request?

Hey Adriano,

One of our members tried to submit https://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/endpoint-antivirus.aspx as a Link but the form keeps returning back showing that it's an "invalid URL"

The URL works fine when clicking on it or putting the URL directly on the browser URL. Is there any reason why the URL is is not accepted and keeps getting an "invalid URL" response when being submitted?

If you try  this URL in any site that checks URL status, you’ll see it returns an error. Two examples:

https://httpstatus.io/

http://tools.seobook.com/server-header-checker/

It is a link on 4.5 version. You’re still in 4.4

Issues I found after install:

 

  • Default Thumbnail Generator¬†Miniature.io doesnt work. App becomes really slow when enabled. After switching to Screenshotmachine, everything works.
  • Copying Settings Values doesn't work. I get:

  • DIsabled Sharing, but Sharing is still shown
  • Disabled Approval for Comments/Reviews, but users still see "Your content will need to be approved by a moderator"

After install I had to run the support tool as well, as the whole layout of my site was buggy.

Overall a bit frustrating.

If you read this topic, you will find this a dozen of times: I'm not resposible for 3rd-party service. If you find one that is not good at the moment, simply swap it.

This can happen with any app... a search in this forum will show you this a thousand of times. This is realated to the server itself, cache or something and exacly for this reason there is the tool you ran.

I'll take a look in the others when I have to update the app as they aren't crachsing your board.
