AshieF73 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Hello, Over the weekend I have tried to upgrade from v3 to v4, and long story short the UTF8 conversion overwhelmed the 1&1 hosting database size causing upgrade errors. So I moved my domain from 1&1 hosting (where it had a SSL) to a new host. The upgrade went fine on the new host until the DNS settings kicked in and now I get SSL certificate errors when trying to access secure areas of the site, meaning I can't login anywhere. I changed my config file to remove the https and change to http. I cancelled the SSL certificate with 1&1 (although no idea how long that takes). I still can't access the ACP. Is it some kind of cache issue with the forum software? Can anyone advise what I need to do?
AshieF73 Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 I did find this tutorial on the Invision website, but I assume this relates to an earlier version of the software. https://www.invisionpower.com/support/kb/_/manually-disable-the-use-https-for-logins-setting-r68

Did you have HSTS configured on your old site for the SSL? If so, that's going to be a major issue as your browser is expecting to connect via SSL.
