LDDG Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 I've been looking throughout the admin CP and I can't find an option to allow guests to be able to vote in polls. Anyone knows how to allow this?
Nathan Explosion Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 There is no option to find - the guest group doesn't have the "Can create polls" or "Can vote in polls" options. You'll need a plugin, or you can request this in Product Feedback.
LDDG Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Thanks for the response, Nathan... It's little details such as these that really make me scratch my head about IPS. Guests can be allowed to post, use tags and even upload attachments, yet they can't be allowed to vote. If I could find an easy way to convert all my IP.Content database to a WordPress database without losing one attachment or article, I would go back to WordPress. It seems even though IPS is a paid product, you still have to invest even more money in having 3rd party developers create plugins for features that should be in the suite to begin with. SMH
Nathan Explosion Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 So go and request in product feedback, and provide what your use case is for the functionality - I personally haven't seen many requesting this recently, and not much at all ever. Request it, and it may come.

Request it, and it may come. I did a quick search for GUEST VOTE and I got 30+ results dating back to 2007 with the most recent being 2013. It's been requested and debated and absolutely no response from IPS on this matter. If it has not been brought up recently it is probably because people get tired of making requests and having them fall on deaf ears. Oh well, I already made a request in the customization requests forum but I will not hold my breath on it. Thanks for the responses, Nathan.
