About This File

This plugin will allow users to quote a post and send a PM to the author.

Thank you @SammyS for the idea!

Nicely done, installed it with no problems and even works on my custom themes. Idea is that my members won't know what it is? is there away to improve that option?

Testing done! aren't working as well as it should be. I click the mail image and typed in the details under the quote. sent it. and then checked the PM and I only see the quote.

I tried to add a tooltip, but it would only show the first word of the language string... it's being really weird.

I have disable mine until it's fixed. I tested it again and same again, I coped 600 words and even that is not coming up.

I also removed the quote and added my own text and sent! and nope :( the quote is there and my text isn't

Walk me through what's happening.

I see what is happening now, I'm having a real hard time getting around it. But I'll get it eventually.

Alright, I found a way for it to actually work, but the quote won't be added until after the message is sent.

This is how the message form will look like now.

Same problem here. In fact I cant write anything if I dont delete the quote

Thats a parcial solution, because if an user quote a large post from somebody surely he will need to read it again. If he dont have the quote Ill need to go back to the post

@SammyS Adriano's User Options plugin links the user to the post... but it pretty much does the same thing. I can ask him to fix his and remove mine off the market since it's pretty much a duplicate.

Still, There isn't anything that is stopping you from fixing this plugin and making it working

Is that not "fixed"?

No if you have to cut "features"

Again, if you quote a large post you want to be able to see it while you write the PM

There's no way to manipulate it, I've tried everything I could think of and this is the only way that worked well.

@Daniel F @Mark @Ryan Ashbrook @Andy Millne You guys got any tips on this?

After hours of testing different solutions, I finally got one that works and it will allow the user to edit the quote!

File has been updated. ^_^

Now it´s really fixed, thanks!

Hi Tom -  is there any plan to update this file to be compatible with latest version of IPB?  Currently it seems the plugin works for all posts EXCEPT for the first post.  The very first post opens the PM window but does not put in the quote.  Every other post on the topic will work fine.

Thanks for the great plugin -
Chad

Can you please tell me which version of IPS you're using?

Hi Tom - we are running 4.1.8 but first noticed it in 4.1.17.1 - could have started earlier but that was just our first observation.

Thanks -

Chad

@BlueEye I'm not able to reproduce the error on my local install which is 4.1.17.1. I don't think that there are any major file changes in 4.1.18 that would stop the plugin from working.

If you wouldn't mind, could you try re-installing the plugin? Let me know if the problem still exists afterward and I'll dig in deeper.

I tried re-installing the plugin Tom and that seems to have fixed the issue.  Thank you and I will keep that in mind for next time.
