SJ77
I have an OFFLINE WAMP stack and wish to use IPB locally to play around with things. I am doing this instead of playing with things on my live site. Surely this is allowed for development purposes but I can't get it to install since it's OFFLINE and as a result cannot verify the Licence key. anyone know how to make this work? SJ77
I think it's still trying to check online for validation. TAMAN
make another fresh copy of the files and install it when it asks for the Licence key you add your Licence key like this 1234567890-12345-12345-1234567890-TESTINSTALL

It then tries to validate it online.. But like I said this is an offline server. Any way around this?
TAMAN
uh sorry i misunderstood, no you must connect to internet cant install without verifying a Licence key connect to internet for a couple seconds then there is no problem shutting it down after the installation

TAMAN
well in this case you can install a installed suite xD for example download all your website files put it in flash or whatever and paste it in the offline server you have download your website database and import, you will have your website ready and its already installed no need to verify the key or whatever not really hard
Dean_
I was going to mention that, make a complete copy of the site and then add the testinstall at the end and it should work no issues.
