He is having trouble seeing options under his name for settings, profile etc from the pull down menu at the top right next to your name on the index page. I'm thinking it is a cookie issue maybe. On 3.x we have the setting to set the cookies for the cookie domain and the prefix -.test- for a test site, but I can find no way to set it to make sure the cookies he's using for the test site are separate from my main live 3.x site.
