RObiN-HoOD
Can you rename BAN to DISABLE for an account? Ban seems a bit unprofessional.
Paul.F
Yes. In the admin area, go to customization -> Languages, click the translate button for the respective language, then type the word Ban in the search field and replace where you see fit. Tracy Perry
The've been known as bans for as long as I can remember. Unprofessional would be "kick 'em in the keister and out the door". I think it's a simple language edit for what users see though...
rgf100
I also used to have 'warnings' as 'admin notes' - often it was handy to use the warning system to request a user, eg, followed up on a question they'd asked and for other admins to be able to see that. But it was hardly a 'warning'. I'd say there's a strong case for that kind of usage - trackable admin<>user communications.
Tom S.
I suppose it depends. Disabled has a nicer ring to it, however, banned has a stronger tone. I feel banned means you are no longer welcome and disabled is simply you are no longer considered an active member. But could be "reactivated" if you so desired. chilihead
Change language, or use banning and also deactivation with a group with 0 permissions and just move them for those that want accounts closed, etc. Also check this out:
