Is there any settings area for this?  How often does it refresh?  We're noticing it will log/show the last thread a person has refreshed, but when they go back to the index or their profile, it doesn't update to show that and for 30 mins or more will show the incorrect "current" location of what the member is viewing.

No one?  There's no light that can be shed?

In advanced configuration there is a setting for how long blocks are cached. It's set to 5 mins by default I think.
