in a folder named PORTAL, not the root (in this case httpdocs/PORTAL )

how should I configure it to run ?

Should be no different than running it in your root. Just have to remember to have your 'portal' directory in your URLs, Paths, etc...

Please let us know if you have any specific issues or problems with this.
