I have ads disabled for myself whilst logged in so I don't accidentally click any so I couldn't tell you if big billboards are ever shown. My RPM is averaging at £0.54 with 63% view rate

I use the standard header on the index, forum display and topic.

25 topics per page, advert after the 8th and 16th topic

10 posts per page, advert after the 1st and 5th post

Footer adverts have always been terrible for me so I don't bother. 

Header is by far the best performing ad, generates 3x the revenue that ads in between posts bring in. Forum display doesn't do that well to be honest.

I'm sure if I could figure out how to give Google a login and display ads on the activity streams I could make more

 

10 posts per page only! wow! thats very little. doesnt it bother your users?... it must be reaaaaly good for pageviews..!  you gave me good incentive to make it that low too.. 

the settings you have we have them too.

For us,(with the previous software) the header never was good, only the between post ad units were good.  members are immediately scrolling down.  

I will see in the future how it will develop  because ips has some user tools on top of the page  (vb didnt )  so it will be a reason for members to scroll back up and also see that top banner again.

 

ah @daveoh have you perhaps put any banner at the homepage, between category and possibly know where the template for that is? 

I d like to have a banner shown when someone writes a pm ....!
