Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted June 11, 20159 yr I'm sure this must be easy, I just can't find it. I want to re-name the Downloads module to Manuals, similar to this site changing it to "Marketplace" Where is this change made?
June 11, 20159 yr You can rename it by going to Customisation > Languages (I think it is) in the ACP. You just search for the term, then rename it and it'll show on the frontend.
June 11, 20159 yr Author I've changed everything which was just referenced as "Downloads" to "Manuals" and the menu item still shows Downloads
June 11, 20159 yr Author So, maybe that's the issue for me... I do not have a key __app_downloads to change.....
June 11, 20159 yr So, maybe that's the issue for me... I do not have a key __app_downloads to change..... Should be there somewhere (check it is not on another page ... although mine shows as being on first page perhaps a reason why yours may be on another page) ... if not then check you are using latest version of IPB 4 and that Downloads is installed
June 12, 20159 yr Author I have searched, sorted and reviewed every single item, and that key is not there.
June 12, 20159 yr Author I found the reason and am able to work around it. In the database there is a record for __app_downloads however the word_export column is set to 0. I set that to 1 and the key now appears in the language editor and I am able to make the change.
June 12, 20159 yr Author So there's a slicker way which Support showed me. In the ACP, go to languages, click on translation tools, turn on "Quick Translating". Then go to the item you want to change (in my case it was downloads menu item) hover over it, you'll see the word become hi lighted then click and hold until the work becomes editable. Change the name, go back to ACP and turn off quick translating!
