Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted May 27, 20159 yr What I want to do is to display only the number of people who liked a post in postbit, instead of their usernames. For example, "10 people like this" instead of "Mark, Andy, Charles and 7 others like this". Is this possible?
May 27, 20159 yr Yes, this is possible in Member Group settings (edit the Group you wish to change this for), under Social tab. Find a setting Can view who gave reputation and disable it.

Edit your groups and find the "Can view who gave reputation" permission. Thanks, but I don't want to disable users from viewing who gave reputation. I just don't want the names to be displayed in the post.
May 27, 20159 yr Management The two permissions are linked. If you can view who gave reputation then it shows who gave them as part of the post too.

It is of course not a big deal but the current layout of the like button is too long. It might not be noticeable on this site, but it can be a problem in cases where a) the usernames are long + b) the site layout is narrow + c) the sidebar is enabled in topic view. Take a look at this screenshot from my site: The only reason the post controls and the like button don't collide is because I had to make the controls icons only. If I had the text (Quote, Edit, Options) like it is by default, there would simply not be enough space. It would look much cleaner if it simply said "18 people like this".

May 28, 20159 yr Author why not just use the thumbs up or down function? Because it's not the same as the like button.
May 28, 20159 yr Because it's not the same as the like button.oh. the only reason why I was referencing the +1 button is because it doesn't show names. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0mBb9QuGv84b3dxZmtiam5lQjA/edit?usp=drivesdk but there is a permission too per group. Edit Group > Social Tab > Reputation > Can view who gave reputation ( 1 / 0 Toggle) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0mBb9QuGv84M2dySWxsRlR4dVU/edit?usp=drivesdk
