SJ77
The setting for Image view (download) count under image thumbnails in the forums??I am trying to get this working in IP4. I even put out a request for custom developer to make it happen. http://community.invisionpower.com/third-party/projects/simple-hook-add-in-image-view-download-count-under-thumbnail-r69/However, just in-case.. does this setting already exist in IP4 ACP? I've searched high and low for this .. also in the MySQL fields if there is any tracking .. only I found "download count" for files (no view image clicks) .. and clicks for adverts .. and that's it .. Also "download count" is not displayed in forums (it does track there) .. and only displayed in app Downloads .. Maybe someone can alter the "download count" code that if clicks on images ( lightbox opens ) are a sort of download .. If you go into your ACP > System > Files .. you see that all image formats don't have any count ( nihil ) .. that would be the right place to see it filled .. I think that would be the easy way out .. .
SJ77
I am actually full on shocked that it's not there. It's a simple but imperative feature that has been in EVERY major forum platform for the last 10 years. Taking it out doesnt feel like a move forward.. it feels like an oversight more than anything. Seems very little thought went into the idea that some people use forums for images. I've already stated ad nauseam the issues with being forced to only have 1 setting for image size... stuck either setting your thumbnail or your full size but can't set both... which is bad and this no "image view count" issue is insult added to injury. IPB is amazing unless you run an image board

Of course .. there is "Gallery" which has a view count under every image .. in a way is it possible for you to let people upload on Gallery first and then port it to a forum .. Although Gallery has it's own comment system .. I guess IPS team wanna simplify the forum to image structure to better promote the Gallery app .. For a new post there is "insert other media" .. and member can see their Gallery images .. like this .. What if we can make a button on a new post (with the editor) that links directly to this view (to insert images from their gallery) .. You will get something like this as end result .. the views are not in there (but can, because gallery has the function) .. .
