can't upgrade from 347 to 403 due to existing database

this is odd.

all third party hooks/mods uninstalled.

upload the 403 files and try to run upgrader (same thing happens if I hit install.php also) and I get to the database section and it tells me I can't do it due to existing community being installed.

if I were to assign different prefix I could but that doesn't help.

this is on test board (luckily) so I can try anything to see why its happening.

any thoughts while I restore it and d/l a fresh copy of 403 ?

Sounds obvious (sorry) but you *are* running the upgrader not the installer yes ? :)

Visit /admin/upgrade not admin/install

upload the 403 files and try to run upgrader (same thing happens if I hit install.php also)

yes, and as i said I also saw same thing using installer. after upgrader failed I restored uploaded again and ran the installer to see just in case.

same error

not hitting the database issue anymore just now no matter how I upload it (binary or auto) it shows 3.47 installed and latest and won't upgrade.

got to be something in the pathing changes, going to try deleting all files (including haccess) except uploads and conf_global and see how that works

this is test board with no access for you guys.

going to restore to a backup thats older and then see what happens.

trying to remember where it is but wasn't there a switch in database for this?

Silly question but you are d/loading the 4.0.3 files and not 3.4.7

Only asking as if says on 3.4.7 and you are already up to date then to me it appears you are d/loading the 3.4.7 files

or ...

you are uploading the 4.0.3 files to wrong place

Obviously I could be wrong ... and did say it was a silly question
