How do I disable automatic embedding of topics? They are completely unnecessary and can slow down the site.

Are you getting that "circle endlessly spinning' thing a lot with those?  I seem to be. I think I'd rather just have a simple link.

​Well not endlessly but the larger the topic, the longer it takes for the embed to load so it must be loading the whole topic which can't be good for performance.

I opened a support case after upgrading to IP.Board 4 regarding this (among other things), and this was the reply from Invision:

There is no way to disable this. This is the new way that internal links show on IPS4 and are automatically converted.

 

I'm really, really hoping that they will change this behavior in a future update.
