I know the change to IP.Content 5 to Pages, but don't it make it a little confusing a little bit with the trying to work with in IP.Content 5 with pages and such when one is talking about it vs working with in the system and talking about pages (webpages)? I think the name could be name a better way. What change the name when IP.Content 5 when it was a good name? Why the change from IP.Content 5 to Pages and was the name consider in regard to the confusing problem with the product?

Hope you can still create databases and articles, since those are not pages.

We renamed the product as it's a different focus and a lot better than IP.Content was.

Yes you can still do databases and articles. Keep in mind they still live in a page in the end.

LOL. So does everything on the net. It's a strange name, but I'll go with it.

Pages sounds like a downgrade, like what XenForo does to create pages.

As long as it does cool stuff, I'm game.

As long as people find their shift key, I don’t see any confusion with Pages vs. pages.

It does lots of cool things. There are topics with people showing off their Pages sites. Our bug tracker, release plan, project area, etc. all use Pages.

Awesome!

I'll demo it soon but one question. When you promote a post to an article in this new version, can you choose a custom database to promote to? I've been waiting for that for a long time. My default article database is very focused and I need to promote to other focused databases. Thanks for your input!

The current 4.0 version doesn’t have the promote functionality at all. But it’s on the to-do list: http://community.invisionpower.com/4featureplan/

Ugg. No way! That's a huge part of my site. Well now I'm not happy.

But by the wording it looks like it may do what I need, finally (I hope!). I can wait.
