Hello,

I noticed that YouTube videos sometimes show as a link and other times as the video.  Seems random.

Anyone have this?

I don't doubt the answer, but it does seem to be too random (it effects any links inserted).

Humm.  Why not if = fail convert on submit?

I think you should post the link and on submit the link gets converted.

At the mo when you paste a link and the video shows sometimes it's hard to click below the video or back to the top.

First, who cares what vanilla forum does. I have tried and tried and cannot post a youtube video, funny thing is it worked in previous versions.

WOFman this is a productive conversation.  I want the best for all of us and my community.  Vanilla forum handles it well.   

I will hold out and see if this is changed in later updates.

It was a example of a way to post youtube video.  I don't care what you think.  It was productive feedback until you joined.

It works perfectly fine on this site, and on my test site. You just paste the address in its own line and everything is fine.

Video is automatically recognized and shown. In 3.4.7 it doesn't work when you use Share option from Youtube site which includes starting time (h**p://someyoutubelink/somecode?t=4s​), but in 4.0 it works every time for me.

​Privacy settings maybe? For example I had to edit the privacy settings of my video to allow it to be embedded here. Otherwise it just comes up as an url.

No problem on mobile and desktop for me

I got my issue with this resolved. It was being blocked by hostgator. Tech support at hostgator fixed the issue.

@ram108 Yes, with space it makes a link, and with ENTER it makes a video. That's how it works, it must be in its own line with no other content.

My problem is all videos are looking really wide, but not tall enough.  I attached a screenshot.

That's a known issue and has been fixed for the next release.
