Posted December 18, 201410 yr I have been trying to install IPS Suite 4.0 beta 3 on my localhost for testing purpose, however on the first step when it asks me to enter key, once I enter it "key-TESTINSTALL" it says;"There was an error communicating with the IPS License Server. Please try again later or contact IPS technical support for assistance." What should I do to for this now?
December 18, 201410 yr Author @Adriano Faria thanks for quick reply Both Curl & openSSL are already enabled I tried to disable & re-enableing them but it's still not working....
December 18, 201410 yr Author Well, I am also using Wamp and have tried many things but it's still not working.I think I am gonna try install Beta 4a and see what happen.
December 18, 201410 yr Author I have PHP 5.4.12 & I have checked all the requirements are okay. Edited December 18, 201410 yr by Gunjan
December 18, 201410 yr You must tell me if the first time you have installed the trial version locally. Remember, you are only allowed one installation and if you have not installed locally, you will not be allowed to install it on another server. I too had the same error in the local, but I had already made my installation on a domain before.
December 18, 201410 yr Author I have made one test server already, and I am running 3.4.7 on my localhost as a test install; however according to this article http://community.invisionpower.com/4docs/settings/ips-license-key-r6/ your localhost installation does not get counted towards your test install so one can install as many time as he/ she wants on localhost.
December 18, 201410 yr But his error is about communication:"There was an error communicating with the IPS License Server. Please try again later or contact IPS technical support for assistance."And that I solved by enabling the two PHP extensions above.
December 18, 201410 yr I think that is not possible, I just did a test and he sent me back an error. (it must be "localhost" specifically, not "127.0.0.1" or any other alias), this will not count towards either of your installations, however, if you are installing on any other domain, it will count as your test installation. December 18, 201410 yr I have the same error message. I want to install the 4.0.0 Beta 4a suite using my license key and appending -TESTINSTALL and it returns the following message. (cURL and openSSL PHP extensions are enabled)There was an error communicating with the IPS License Server. Please try again later or contact IPS technical support for assistance.
December 18, 201410 yr Then probably it's something on Beta4a. It doesn't happen on 4, which I made a fresh install yesterday.
December 18, 201410 yr Installing the beta 3 version didn't result in an error message, but the Beta 4a does. I created a bug report.
December 18, 201410 yr Author I have just tried installing another IPS Suite 3.4.7 with different name in my localhost(so I can check whether there is problem with IPS Suite 4a or it's a common bug) ; however, I am not able to install the set up. It seems that it maybe a feature that doesn't let you install more then one IPS Suite(test install) in localhost or may be a bug. @joelle thanks for reporting the bug PS: Please let me know if the problem persist or you come across a workaround
December 18, 201410 yr It was a bug: http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/error-message-when-installing-beta-4a-r977/EDIT: still pending. Edited December 18, 201410 yr by Adriano Faria
