Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
bigPaws Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Since switching to v4 it seems certain functions have become very slow, such as logging in which took about 30 seconds and even clicking the new thread button then resulted in a 10-15 sec wait. On the topic of new thread - it's annoying on mobile to have to scroll all the way past the threads in a forum to get to the button - please tell me the mobile design is still a work in progress (are IPS still serving narrow phone mobile design to 9" tablet owners?)
The Jimmo Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Read other topics IPS is still making changes and there is a lot of background converting going on so it slows things down a bit. Plus I'm sure they are logging a lot of usage for reporting. Regarding mobile, it is now a responsive design.
bigPaws Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 There are still loads of issues using an IPhone, I've had to refresh this page to get the quick reply box to actually accept my input! Also my post above took over a minute to post! PS layout issue with notify replies box (see attachment)
The Jimmo Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 report it in the bug tracker. Telling me won't help solve it
bigPaws Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 The bug tracker page says the server made a boo-boo (their words not mine!). Also the posts about the site being slow were 8 hours ago now. I kind of assumed they wouldn't push this on to the main site until some of the major issues posting on the responsive design had been fixed (I had to refresh twice more to get this text box to work).

They have pushed it here to get feedback and see how it performs on such a high traffic community. You'll probably see bugs & speed performance issues, but this is probably the first time they have tested it on such a large community. I'm sure once they evaluate performance, they will make behind the scenes changes. It's great that you're finding stuff and reporting it though.
