This is a Full-featured IPSConnect Slave Application built as a WordPress plugin.

Incompatible WordPress Plugins:

Important! These plugins are known to directly conflict with the IPS.Connect authentication flow in WordPress, You *MUST* disable these plugins if installed before installing and leave them off. 

[*]WishList Member (while the reason is a logout incompatibility, this plugin represents a security hole by nature of it's obfuscation technique, I would highly suggest removing if installed regardless) 

[*]Limit Login Attempts (This plugin is apparently mandatory and not easily removable on wpengine.com hosting. This unfortunately does mean if your host is wpengine.com, you will not be able to use this modification.)

Question - is it possible to have usergroups on the Wordpress side be automatically assigned, matching the IPB side?

It would go a long way toward being able to use Nexus as the membership system, while still limiting content visibility in Wordpress accordingly.

(MT) WordPress IPSConnect 1.1.1 DISABLED API DISABLED

Getting this error with XML-RPC enabled on IP.Board and correct Log In/APi details entered any suggestions? Id use the support forums link but the captcha wont let me past registration.

if everything is correct, i would suggest checking wp-content/plugins and make sure the folder is named "ipsconnect", as i've seen various tools used (maybe during extraction, not sure) that will rename the folder to like ipsconnect_adew3 or ipsconnect_1, it should be ipsconnect.

What solution was given to "Azure" here (http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/7163-wp-ips-connect-plugin/) ? As he seems to have the same issue.

He never responded to as if it worked or not, but here is what i told him to try (this was before I knew of the problem some were having, either changing the folder name on purpose or some other tool was doing it):

 

In WP admin panel, go to settings->(MT) WP IPSConnect and in "Return Url Post-Logout", make sure a url is supplied. Master URL and Master Key, verify they match the information obtained in step 1 of the readme.html included in the zip.

 

as well make sure there are any extra spaces at the beginning or end of any input field (probably not the issue but remove them if they are there).

Hi Again,

So for some reason now it works (didn´t change anything just clicked save again so no idea there. Problem is, the moment you log out, you can´t login again (wp) you get a 520 error cannot login please try again later, and you have to delete the plugin just to be able to get back in.

 

Another thing I´m not clear on is, I´ve imported a forum from Kunena to ipb and that all works fine, of course there´s a db of users, how do those users login? Meaning, does this plugin create accounts for those users on the wordpress side of things?

I'm not familiar with http error code 520? a quick google search says its cloudflare error, you use cloudflare?

Sorry I should´ve specified that it´s not an HTTP error but rather an error message that shows in the login form for wordpress if that makes sense

 

The moment I save master url and key I loose access to wp, have to dig in to wp_options and delete the settings in order for it to let me back in

 

Could it be the fact that there are users with same username both in WP and IPB?

 

PS: The link in step 1 does not work, I got the info needed from Log In Authentication Manager in IPB

Ok, all fixed.

We had an httaccess folder pass on the forum and it seemed to have issues with that, disabling it and reconfiguring the plugin did the trick, thought I´d let you know in case you hear of this issue in the future

Has anyone with this plugin moved to WordPress 4.1 yet? A little afraid to upgrade 'til I know it's safe to!

Any idea what causes the following error code while attempting to login?

Its a generic error for WP IPS Connect. it could be your username or password are incorrect, the user doesn't exist in IPS, it can't communicate with IPSConnect. check all your settings in WP IPS Connect, make sure they match the IPS Connect settings required, and that the username and password are correct as well.

I am trying to connect IPS4.0 with my wordpress blog. Everything would be working out, but I cannot find the API key in the ACP of IPB4.0. Does anyone know where this would be?

this plugin was designed to only work with IPS 3.4, not IPS 4.0, so i am not sure it would work (haven't looked at IPS Connect for 4.0 yet).

Quite a few of my forum members can't sign into the Wordpress front end. Is there an easy way of finding out what the problem is please?

it should produce an error message, that has a code and/or a phrase as to why it can't complete the login.

​Is there any way I can produce a better error message? Might be a server setting which conflicts with it or too low version of php? (5.3.29) Because its running fine on my local wamp and I`m doing nothing different there (only the Master URL/Key differ).

it is not an error produced to a log, it will be produced on the login page of WP.

If it does, then its configured correctly, you will need to rule out plugins/hooks (possibly in IPS, aswell in WordPress) to see if any of them are effecting the login flow. In the product description it mentions a few WordPress plugins that conflict with this one, verify you do not have any of those installed.

​Thanks for your quick response. I used a backup of my livesite for the local installation which contains all the same AddOns etc. I already had the thought that cometchat might be the cause, but even disabled it still won't work.

 

WP is a new installation with no AddOns beside yours.
