Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 28, 201411 yr I'd love if IPS would release the iPhone source code for community admins to download and deploy on their own. Since it is no longer downloadable on the store, it would allow admins to put it upon themselves to update the app.

April 1, 201411 yr Unfortunately it wouldn't really be that useful - the app requires specific support from the backend, so if we were to release the source of the app we'd have to continue supporting it in the product itself.
April 1, 201411 yr Not necessarily. That backend could be custom coded as an add-on. No need for it to be maintained as part of the core product. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that source code either.
April 1, 201411 yr It also has to route through our servers for the APN stuff, and we aren't maintaining this infrastructure. I'm afraid it is unlikely we will be releasing the iOS app source code.
