Language Packs in 4.0

Since I am knee deep in importing language packs, and I also cherish the customized strings I have made in our default English language pack, I wondered if the IPS staff would comment on the language pack transition with a 4.0 upgrade.

Will all the non-English language packs need to be redone?

Will we be able to carry over some of our existing default language pack strings that have been customized?

A developer may be able to clarify, however it's my understanding that the language packs will need to be started from scratch, just like most mods and apps for 4.0.

The language string "keys" will not match up, so you will need to retranslate the pack from scratch I'm afraid.

That is if at me are now set Russian, English and German I them I will lose after up-dating?

Yes, you will need to translate 4.0 from scratch, as I mentioned above. There is no way to carry over existing translations I'm afraid.
