Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted October 16, 201311 yr Hi everyone, We just moved to the IPS Community, after 15 years (!!) on phpBB, and I feel compelled to report how terrific the IPS support team was in making that move a success. Over the years on phpBB we got used to getting our database, and thus all of our history, dumped/corrupted/lost during upgrades and server moves, and that was a huge inertia in moving at all, much less converting to a new platform. But thanks to the IPS support team, who stayed in immediate contact with me over the course of 12 hours as I ran the conversion (most of that trying to get phpBB to properly export!), everything went smoothly and we got our entire database of content and users moved without any loss. Our users were immediately excited to see greatly-improved performance, a host of new features, and lots of potential for the future. Thanks to everyone on the team! -d
